Scotland Demands Better

The Church of Scotland is supporting Scotland Demands Better, the civil society movement calling on our politicians to prioritise tackling poverty as we approach the May 2026 Scottish Parliament election.
Emma Jackson, Convener of our Public Life and Social Justice Programme Group highlighted at the General Assembly how the Church's involvement in Scotland Demands Better is one way we can live out our mission to create disciples for the transformation of the world:
We invite everyone who is able to join the March in Edinburgh on Saturday 25 October – we hope it will be a safe and positive space where we will join with the supporters of hundreds of other organisations to make a constructive ask of our politicians. The organisers expect the March to gather at the Parliament, then proceed up the Royal Mile, along George IV Bridge and to finish at the Meadows for the rally.
Bring your banners, placards and posters!

We're please that the meetings in Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Inverness and Glasgow will all take place in church-related premises.
