Life and Work
With deep appreciation and sadness, we share that Life and Work has now ceased publication in its current format.
For over 140 years, Life and Work magazine was the voice of the Church of Scotland. Firmly rooted in the affairs of the Kirk, it covered a broad range of subjects from international affairs and British political and social issues to science, ethics, and the arts, offering a forum for views on current social and moral issues; a monthly meditation; articles on the spiritual side of life; reviews of Christian resources; and features on the Church.
At the General Assembly in May 2025, the Church made the difficult decision to bring this chapter to a close. Our final edition reflects on the rich history and lasting impact of Life and Work as the magazine of the Church of Scotland.
We extend heartfelt thanks to Editor Lynne McNeil and all members of the Life and Work team for their commitment, creativity, and faithful service over the years. You can read the final issue, available free of charge.

Final issue: August 2025
