Social Care Council

‘We love because he first loved us'.

1 John 4 v 19

children and families

Caring for people in their communities has been at the heart of the Church of Scotland for over 150 years.

Today, CrossReach plays its part in continuing that tradition by offering loving care to those who find themselves in circumstances where they require support. As one of the largest and most diverse not-for-profit providers of social care in Scotland, they are deeply rooted in communities, empowering people of all ages to live life to the full.

The services, delivered by specialist teams in Children and Families, Adult Care and Older People Services fill a vital role between the private and statutory sector, offering a person-centred approach. They have changed over time but as much needed today as they ever have been.

At the core of CrossReach lies love, a deep-rooted concern for others which speaks to our common humanity and dignity and an aspiration for a Scotland in which all can thrive.

About CrossReach

CrossReach was launched in June 2005. It continues the Church of Scotland's long tradition of providing care and support which started back in 1869. CrossReach employ more than 1,800 staff and support some of the most vulnerable people in Scotland. Find out about working for CrossReach

The social services provider has an annual expenditure of around £46 million. Just over one per cent of its funding comes directly from the Church of Scotland, with most of the rest coming from local authorities. Donations and legacies are also essential to help continue its vital care work.
